What is a “Micro- project”?

A micro-project consists of developing a public space, such as the surroundings of a school or a square, through a light, rapid intervention (compared to urban projects which generally extend over several months / years), at low costs and the results of which are visible quickly.

This type of development is part of an approach called “tactical urbanism” (or “transitional urbanism”), which aims to rethink and act on the use of public space by associating and mobilizing the daily “practice of the city” of the main stakeholders and actors of the city: the inhabitants.

This participatory approach thus makes it possible to develop the facilities by readjusting the elements that appear to be unsuitable through consultation with the citizens and other key players, or on the contrary, by consolidating and perpetuating the facilities that have been approved.
