In short

CODATU facilitates international exchanges and the cooperation between different actors in the field of transportation and urban mobility: local communities, public authorities, companies, research institutes on urban transportation, and professionals of the field. In order to do so, the CODATU supports the technical cooperation between countries by organizing technical assistance, studies, conferences, seminars, workshops, trainings and publishing books in order to share experiences and concrete good practices of sustainable urban mobility.

In Tunisia, CODATU works closely in collaboration with the national and local authorities responsible for transportation on multiple projects related to the improvement of urban mobility since 2012. In Kairouan in particular, the CODATU has been working since 2016-2017 with the city and Eurometropolis Strasbourg, the municipality of Kairouan and the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) of Kairouan on the promotion of and urban sustainable mobility et the local level.

The AUTREMENT project is part of the new approach of the European Union aiming at reinforcing the role of local authorities to face global challenges and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDOs).
